Victorian Council of the Australian Power Boat Association

The Victorian Council of the Australian Power Boat Association is responsible for and oversees the sport of Power Boat racing in Victoria.

Power Boat racing is conducted under the control of the Australian Power Boat Association (APBA), all Power Boat racing clubs must be affiliated with the APBA to conduct sanctioned racing events in Australia, events must be sanctioned in order for records to be claimed and Championship Points to be awarded.

Clubs affilliated with the Victorian Council include Glenmaggie District Boat Club, Melbourne Runabout & Speed Boat Club, Victorian Drag Boat Club, Victorian Speed Boat Club, Victorian Outboard Club and Oz Lites 1.6 Litre Boating Register.

Formula Future Program
The Junior Drivers Program is an initiative of the Victorian Council of the APBA and involves providing junior race boats for young drivers to have a go in. Junior drivers need to be aged between 12 and 16 years, have a State boating licence and be a member of a racing club. Junior boats are available to use on race days. Email if you are interested.

4.2 Oz Boat Register
The 4.2 Stock Displacement Register has reformed in Victoria, Matt Norrish is the President and can be contacted by Mob. 0438135969 or on email maty_n_81@hotmail.com. The Oz Boat class is very competitive and fun, so if you are interested contact Matt and get involved.

In Turkey on Sunday 11th November – Australia was successful in its bid to be the host Country for next years UIM General Assembly.

After many hours and a lot of hard work by Tony Walsh and Angela Sawka Australia was award the honour ahead of Egypt and Spain.

At the end of the General Assembly 2008 a race meeting will be organised to showcase Australian power boat racing to the many countries attending, this race meeting will be held in conjunction with the Queensland – APBA at a venue to be advised, a good warm up for Bundy 2008.
